EA Sports FC 26 have revealed the Team of the Week 30 that includes an 85 OVR rated in-form Southampton midfielder Shea Charles.
Fresh from stunning Arsenal 2-1 in the FA Cup, Southampton toyed with Wrexham’s defence in midweek. The Saints put five goals past Wrexham’s net and never looked like a visiting side that was under pressure to reclaim the top 6 spot, and that too at an away stadium.
Tonda Eckert’s men ran all over the hosts midfield and kept scoring at a video game’s pace ever since Kuryu Matsuki found the 1-0 opener. Even Oxford United showed a decent amount of resistance at St. Mary’s back in March, when Southampton struck twice within fifteen minutes. Wrexham, on the other hand, didn’t.
With that, the Saints have kicked off April on the best note possible. Every first team player is giving his level best in Southampton’s 15 match unbeaten streak and that has led EA FC 26 to also come forward and acknowledge the Saints performances.
EA FC 26 drops 85 OVR Shea Charles TOTW card

Charles has been rewarded with an 85 OVR TOTW player item based on his splendid performances against Arsenal and Wrexham within the span of 3 days. He narrowly missed out on a starting midfield spot to the likes of Inter Milan’s Hakan Calhanoglu, Bayern Leverkusen’s Grimaldo among others.
Shea Charles’ former Manchester City teammate Erling Haaland leads the Team of the Week lineup with a 92 OVR ST card. Hopefully, Shea Charles gets an EA FC Team of the Week very soon as a starter for his Southampton exploits. That moment might probably come in the Premier League, though.
What next for Shea Charles and Southampton?
Southampton fans remember very well that Shea Charles had to watch the 23/24 Saints promotion run-in from the sidelines during the final months of the season. Former Southampton boss Russell Martin still viewed Charles as a teenage talent back then, but the 22-year-old has (and is) playing a key role under Tonda Eckert’s playoffs charge.

Next up for Southampton is a home evening against 8th place rivals Derby County. Southampton started well in the reverse trip to Derby last year, but were pegged back at 1-1 at full-time. Shea Charles started the proceedings there before eventually making way for Flynn Downes late in the second half.
Saturday can prove to be a better night for Charles and Saints than that 1-1 draw. For a start, Derby County are without Rhian Brewster and Saints loanee Ben Brereton Diaz due to their respective season ending injury and loan player rules reasons.
Should Southampton take another quick-fire lead, another comfortable 3 points can come in the bag. Provided Wrexham lose on the weekend and a few more future Championship results go the Saints way over the next few weeks, Tonda Eckert’s side can secure a playoffs spot with around 3 league games remaining.
That will be a remarkable feat, no doubt about it. In the meantime, let’s stay optimistic for a home win over Derby County on Saturday.
